What exactly is EasyLifeKey®? And how does its technology work?
EasyLifeKey® may seem magical, but it's not rocket science, and the explanation is simple. Digital information on the EasyLifeKey® is exchanged electronically with the reader. It doesn't need its own battery, as it draws its power from the reader.
Depending on the programming and authorization, the door is then opened, or another pre-programmed function (e.g., electric car charging, garage door opening, elevator access for a specific floor) is activated for a short time pulse, or the desired function is executed.
compatible with EasyLifeKey® ?
Almost all RFID devices that work with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification - not NFC) - regardless of the manufacturer - are compatible.
How secure is EasyLifeKey®? • What exactly is a UID?
EasyLifeKey® can be used on different systems - depending on the manufacturer and technology - with AES encryption and without encryption.
A UID (Universal Identification Number) is a unique number that exists worldwide (for example, in Mifare DESfire technology, it's a 14-digit number) – it exists only once! It is stored in the digital electronics as a so-called HEX code – for example, 43A2B3FAC2987E.
Depending on the system and/or manufacturer, there is also an additional layer of individual AES encryption.
This makes the EasyLifeKey® impossible to copy or hack!
Which RFID technologies does EasyLifeKey® use? • Is it compatible with older technologies?
EasyLifeKey® can be used on different systems and, depending on the chip configuration, utilizes the technologies Mifare® DESFire® (incl. Classic), LEGIC® Advant (MP313) as well as possibilities of the old still existing technologies HITAG2 and EM4100/4200.
Do I need an internet connection to use EasyLifeKey®?
No, the system and technology do not require the internet for basic setup and everyday on-site use.
What happens if I lose my EasyLifeKey® digital key or it gets stolen?
The EasyLifeKey® can be easily blocked in the existing system (depending on the manufacturer) to prevent any authorization and function.
Does the EasyLifeKey® digital key require a battery or a rechargeable battery?
No, the EasyLifeKey® technology does not require a battery; the "power" comes from the "reading page" (reader) during use.
What happens if I accidentally wash the EasyLifeKey® in my laundry?
No problem for the EasyLifeKey® - just don't "cook" it! 😉
